It feels as though Christmas time has snuck up on us this year with the days moving so quickly. It feels as though December has gone by in a blink of an eye. Yet this has been a challenging grief month due to the impending holidays. December is often a time for connecting with family and friends and when they are not there then, it is very difficult. But as we carry on and muddle through the holidays take time to think of the people and pets who are not with us. Set an empty plate at the table to represent someone who is missing or light a candle or several and take time to remember your loved one.
As we navigate the holidays we often lose sight of the true meaning of the connections in our lives. I encourage you to try and remember these precious times by taking a photo or even writing in a journal. Capture the moment. Perhaps even go back to the same day a few years earlier and see what happened on that day. It is always surprising of how we are constantly changing in the midst of challenges.
